I had the esteemed honor of assisting Angel on a Fashion Show she organized for the Brooklyn Waterside Arts Coalition. Angel, the owner of MonkeyGirlz Treasures Consignment shop on Staten Island, has been doing this kind of work for years, contributing her artistic passion and her gorgeous vintage collection to help causes that are close to her heart. She not only curated the fashions that would be presented direct from the collections in her shop, but she walked in the runway herself in between fitting us for our outfits and accessorizing every last detail like we were in Paris for fashion week. At that point I realized a models work is no easy feat! LOL! This event was especially for the Closing Ceremony, celebrating the infamous model Twiggy, in light of the pending winter season. BWAC opens every spring and closes for the winter.

Walking in this years runway was Tiffiney, another philanthropic soul and Managing Director of Red Hook Arts Project, based in Brooklyn. Over the last several years, she has been ensuring that children in her community are immersed in the arts of all mediums. Her own children have already had successful turns as artists in their own rights and she beams as she shows us their achievements. My camera literally chased her around to grab her beautiful essence and outstanding afro in the rays of sunlight after the break of rain and clouds. To be surrounded by so many wonderfully talented, passionate women made me proud to meet them and walk alongside them for this exciting event. I would not have even known about it if not for my very best friend in the whole world. For over 20 years, Elba has been passionate in her quest to help cure women and men of certain malignancies, serving them as an outpatient chemotherapy nurse, confidante, and reliable shoulder. Housecalls, endless advise, research, and even hospital visits, she has always gone above and beyond her call of duty in her healthcare career. Now she will dedicate herself to teaching others to do just the same, injecting them with her infectious enthusiasm, charm, and infinite love of helping their patients.

These powerhouses are all an inspiration to me and I could not wait to share with you all. Happy Viewing!
